Dear The Lakewood View,

Can you please help with the constant telemarketing phone calls that we get every evening, just around supper or kids' bedtime.  Every night we get the automated phone calls of raffles and tzedakah causes.  They are disruptive and annoying, and there seems to be no way to unsubscribe or make them stop coming.  What can we do about them?

On a similar note, with all due respect to the chashuv ladies who organize the tehillim chain calls, they too are becoming very obtrusive to those of us with young children.  Evenings are busy times in most households - most of us young mothers struggle through the evenings trying to fit in supper, homework, baths, bedtime, and everything that comes with it.  Although it would be nice, we really do not have time to stop what we're doing, answer the phone, pull out a tehillim and a phone book and make a phone call.  Also, many of the calls come after 9:30PM, when many of us have already wrapped things up and are going to bed.  What can we do about these calls?

They really should make an opt-out list.

Don't answer them until it is someone you know who needs tehillim. Then all of a sudden you'll have time

I've been recording the call ID of each call and adding it to the blacklist of my VoIP Phone, to block the number. Each time they call me from a number, is the last time they call me.
