Keep the time and date, and please take the time to vote for the candidates of your choice.  I have a supply of mail-in ballots.  If readers need a ballot, just let me know, and I will get one to you.

-----

Again, I thank and support the current Fire Commissioners.  They have risen through the ranks, understand the Fire Department, and have managed with strength, integrity, and skill.  Attorney Larry Loigman has entered the race, but Vince and Juan have earned our support from their years of dedicated service to the Lakewood Fire District.  Thank you Vince Lobello and Juan Ortiz.  Continue to serve proudly and with honor and pride.

-----

There are allegations that the Fire District budget has irregularities, in that the true financial assets and/or reserves in the district are larger than what is being disclosed to the public.  Attorney Loigman and his supporters have provided copies of Fire District minutes, audits from forensic auditors, and other commentary.  Attorney Loigman questions the need for a Board of Fire Commissioners, citing that there is no other Board of Commissioners for any other organization.  Attorney Loigman believes that Fire Commissioners, if they exist at all, must be highly skilled business people, and that long time experience as a fire fighter is not necessary.  Attorney Loigman contends that that duty and responsibility lies with the Fire Chief/s.  All of this is food for thought, and it is now up to residents to use their best judgment, as they go to the polls on Saturday, February 18.  The candidates are as follows:

Vince Lobello               Incumbent

Juan Ortiz                     Incumbent

Larry Loigman, Esq.     Challenger

Vince (der gonif) gave up his police towing (in disgust w this Town) about 9 moths ago, he wants out-let's give him the chance to be out.

As a 3 year volunteer fire fighter I have gotten to know Juan and Vince as well as the other commisioners they have all approached me asking if I had any problems or if i needed anything. When I joined I received brand new gear not some old outdated used gear of a retiree.
After completing the application I was denied becoming a firefighter, not by Lakewood but by the State they sqid that my physician had said I had a issue. I went to a specialist and it was clear my physician had made a mistake. Once geting a letter from the specialist I was cleared to join. I do not believe there is anything Lakewood can do to streamline the process as it is the state that can take 3-6 months to reciew and accept your application.

I ask that everyone comes out and shows support for our fire dept. By voting yes on e again decreased budget and by voting for Juan Ortiz and Vincent Lombelo. For the reason that they are volunteer firefighters and there is no way to explain standing face to face with a 800+ degree ragging fire other than to have done so.

    Sincery,
    A Volunteer Firefighter

What does handing in a tow license have anything to do with being a fire commissioner?
    .

Vince is a horrible person ! He didn't hand in his towing license he threw it at the township committee , because they wanted to pass a law that would save residents money and he would lose money as a tower!!

Let me start by saying I have never seen any antisemitism in the fire dept nor have I seen applications being turned down. I know of a number of individuals that did apply but did not follow through due to other commitments in there life. (some got married and some had to much work or other duties)

As a 3 year volunteer fire fighter I have gotten to know Juan and Vince as well as the other commisioners they have all approached me asking if I had any problems regarding religion or if I needed anything.

I went to a specialist and it was clear my physician had made a mistake. Once geting a letter from the specialist I was cleared by the state (after waiting again) to join. I ask that everyone comes out and shows support for our fire dept. By voting yes on the again decreased budget and by voting for Juan Ortiz and Vincent Lombelo. For the reason’s that they have the fire dept as well as the taxpayers money in mind and have done a great job doing so over the past 20 years. and that they are volunteer firefighters for a number of years and there is no way to explain standing face to face with a 800+ degree ragging fire other than to have done so.

    To whom this may concern,

I am a volunteer Fire Fighter with Engine Company # 1 for a number of years. Tomorrow a man named Lary Loigman is trying to replace a firefighter of 30 years on the Board of Fire Commissioners. He has no Previous Firefighting Experience & does not know what it takes to fight fires. His agenda is to Lower Taxes that are already lower than any other town in our area (average household pays an approximated
$160 yearly) and he known for wanting to make noise! He has a reputation of suing Government agency's as he has sued various government organizations over one hundred times & other such stupidity that has wasted more Tax dollars than he saved(do a simple GoogleSearch and see for yourself), We do not want such a person controlling our budget when we put our lives on the line. I ask you to Please come out & support me and My fellow Brothers by voting YES on the decreased budget & voting for Vincent Lombelo & Juan Ortiz 2 very experienced firefighters tomorrow.

    Thank You For your Support

You may not like Vince but this is not a popularity contest. He always wants the best for the fire department. He has given more than 30 years of his life to make sure blacks, whites ,Jewish, Hispanic, and who ever else lives in Lakewood has the best in fire protection. Vince inspects, asks questions and makes sure we are getting what we pay for when it comes to fire equipment. I can assure all in Lakewood that Vince gives 100% and nothing less. Lives are at stake here. Think before making your decision. The Lakewood fire department is not in debt and is running smoothly. How can anyone see that as a problem?
