Mitt Romney will be back in New Jersey this week for a fundraiser in Lakewood hosted by attorney Larry Bathgate II and Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore.
But Gov. Chris Christie won't be there.
Christie will be in California at the end of this week on another fundraising trip for Romney, who he endorsed in October. Christie spoke last of 10 governorswho attended a rally outside of Colorado with Romney last week.
The Romney event is set for Wednesday afternoon at Lake Terrace hall. The invitation says a donation of $1,000 pays for the reception, $10,000 a VIP photo reception and $25,000 a roundtable with the candidate. Former Gov. Tom Kean, his son Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Jr. (R-Union), Sen. Jim Holzapfel (R-Ocean) and Atlantic County GOP Chairman Keith Davis are expected to attend along with about 700 people.

Larry Bathgate only does good for the town of lakewood. Thank you for all you have done to bring us the blue claws and sell the airport to the township. An integral part of bringing us the Cogen plant as well. All the best for lakewood.

It would be interesting to see who from Lakewood will be there. I don't think many will show up. After all, Lakewood has 2500 houses on Section 8 (as reported in TLS a few months ago). Lakewood, supposedly, is a poor town. I'll take a guess who will be there - the "slum-lords" who own many of the houses in Lakewood, and probably a gambler also. Common folk, like me, can't afford those prices.
We should boycott all the local magazines if they put pictures o this event in their magazine. This is not for our children to see frum people kissing the hand or giving money to a Mormon that believes that they can convert all of the yidden even after they die. Previous gedolim forbade any contact or support for them. They did not allow frum people to go to their geneology centers and pay for information or even get it for free. If our magazines make a chashivus of this we need to once and for all tell them to keeptheir garbage out of our homes. The shopper and voice hopefully will do the right thing.

Instead we should support Obama, who is not actively working to ensure that the Muslim Brotherhood takes over the Middle East and threatens Israel, who is NOT actively working on defeating Israel through suicidal land concessions to the peace loving Palestinians, and who is NOT actively working to prevent Israel from attacking Iran and thus save Israel. As a shrewd political observer, my belief is that Hershel tried to change the Republican party in Lakewood for the better, and failed. So now he is trying to destroy the Republican party of Lakewood.
The problem with this strategy is that the Democrat party is worse. In addition, by destroying the Republican party in Lakewood, this will have a negative affect on the state and national Republican party which is trying to save our country from the Democrats.
So we may hate Langert, Miller, Singer, but Romney should be supported. If Obama wins a second term, we won't care too much about the petty issues of today, we will have much bigger issues in this country. And it won't be pretty.
