The Lakewoodview interviewed LOUIE Follman or as he is legally named ELAZAR FOLLMAN.
LAKEWOODVIEW: Why did you decide to run as a write in suddenly before the primary?
ELAZAR "LOUIE" FOLLMAN:
I was constantly being asked by many people if I would be interested in running for Township Committee. The answer was always no. Just recently I was approached and asked if I would give permission to use my name is a write in. I reluctantly said yes.
LV: Why did you say yes?
EF: I figured that people are fed up with being given no option as to who should be on committee. The guys that have been there for years have been doing the same thing year after year.
LV: How would you be different?
EF: First of all if there is a problem, it needs to be solved, not ignored. Crime is a serious issue, and needs to be dealt with in a proactive manner, not in a defensive way. We need to clean up our town, it is getting out of hand. As a member of the planning board I will try to promote responsible projects that will help the town.
LV: Are there any things you feel the town needs now?
EF: We need more help for businesses. As a small business owner I know how our businesses can help the community by providing jobs and services. It is our responsibility to help everyone, and not just a few well connected people.
LV: Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?
EF: I know its hard to get out and vote, especially to bother writing someone in, but there are a lot of frustrated people in our town, and maybe now is a good time to shake things. I have no favors to do for anybody, except the people that want to see me on the ballot. Most people were not going to vote because they were not given any choice.
LV: So everyone should get out tomorrow and vote for ELAZAR FOLLMAN as a Write in against the incumbents and vote for either Berman or Medina along with him to remove the incumbents.
EF: Sounds like a plan.
