Once again money and politics have played out to victimize the vulnerable. Toronto is known as a big money community with the wealthy controlling the Rabbis...including Rov Miller. Support for the shuls and organizations has taken precedence over helping this unfortunate convert and her husband, even though many of the other leading rabbis in the community privately agree with what is stated in Gestetner's letter. May Hashem help them overcome the evil that they have been exposed to.
9:47 well said. The real issue in Toronto with this couple is that they don't have 1000's, or even millions of dollars to buy their way into the community to be accepted. Many men who live here have had heters done with ex-wives to avoid extortion, and have since re-married. Some of these men have their family names on hospitals and schools here - obviously pointing to the reason why they were not chased out of town like these people. Toronto has unfortunately become an elitest gashmius community where only money buys the right to be an accepted Frum Jew. The poor in the community are puppets that are used for "mitzvahs" and amusement, without a care for their true well being beyof the good deed of the moment. A true Jew would not choose to live in such a place of shallowness. I pray that this family will find a new community and live to serve G-d and find happiness.

Your failure to bring even one reasoned, halachic argument which might refute R. Gestetner's letter is proof positive to me:
1. you are an intellectually shallow person
2. since you are unable to reason for yourself, the rabbinic political bosses control your mental processes for you
3. it is you and your so-called rabbis who are really full of it.
Rabbi Miller has a relatively small circle of adherents in Toronto, and specializes in petty politics, no matter who may get hurt in the process. He has done this before in being motzei shem ra on others whom he views as a threat to his little fiefdom. His background, btw, is solidly Mizrachi. 1. r 'shlomo miller has no respectable opposition in the city that would come out vocally against him.
